Journey of the WYD Cross & Icon ‘At a Glance’ - Days: 13
- Total Events: 48
- Total attendees at JCI events: Over 25,000
- School Gatherings: 17 events: 14,000 attendees
- Deanery Events: 18 events: 7,000 attendees
- Central Events:
- Archdiocesan Youth Day
- 1,400 attendees
- Y Walk - 350 attendees
- Multicultural Mass - 1,200 attendees
- All Night Vigil - 170 initially (40 stayed all night)
- Mt Coot-tha Pilgrimage Walk - 140 attendees
- State Parliamentary Reception - 306 attendees
- Other Special Events (CityCat, Sunrise Service, Mater Hospital, Youth Ministry Breakfast, Carmelite Monastery, Stradbroke Island, Brisbane City Hall): 7 events – 600 attendees
- Weather: During the 13 days of the Journey of the WYD Cross and Icon throughout the Archdiocese of Brisbane it rained for 10. The total rainfall received in Brisbane in that period was 110mm, in Caloundra it was 230mm and in Hervey Bay it was 180mm. No event was cancelled because of the weather.
JCI Schoolies For three days in November 2007 we again welcomed the WYD Cross and Icon to our Archdiocese, in particular to the Gold Coast for Schoolies. The main focus of these days was to provide opportunities to pray for and with young people attending schoolies and for those in support /ministry roles. Events included: - Welcome Mass and Reflection
- A Sunset Prayer Service at Burleigh Heads
- Prayer for Peace – Young People gathered in the Schoolies Precinct and walked to the church for a Reflection/Prayer Service
- Visit to Gold Coast Hospital
- Mass to pray for Schoolies Ministry Workers
Two special events were held during the visit: - A Prayer Service for the Brisbane WYD Working Groups
- A visit to Boystown at Beaudesert
