For more information on package inclusions visit http://www.wyd2008.org (Registration does not include transportation to and from Sydney) Step 2: Who will I travel with? The organisers of WYD08 are encouraging the formation of Pilgrim Groups as a means to better manage the logistics of WYD08 and ensure that Pilgrims get the most from the experience. Each Pilgrim Group will share the same: Accommodation type, Catechesis site and language. - Connect to a Current Pilgrimage Group
If you’d like to join an already established pilgrimage group the 1st step would be to contact your local parish to see if they are sending one. Otherwise you can contact the Brisbane WYD Secretariat and they will try to find a group in your area. Alternatively you could form a group of your own. - Attend as an Individual
Pilgrims are encouraged to attend as members of a group. However, those who don’t want to travel with a group can register as a group of 1. (ie. Need to Register as a Group Leader) - Attend as a Family
If all family members are over 16yrs at 31/12/08 the family may join/form a group under Package A, B or C. Families with under 16’s may join/form a group under Packages B and C only. Children under 8yrs do not need to be registered but restrictions may apply to some events. (See the official WYD08 website for full details on the age policy) Note: Groups can request to be “linked” with other groups. Linking groups means that groups travelling under different package types can be allocated the same Catechesis sites and in the same area for the Vigil and Final Mass with the Holy Father.
Step 3: Where will I stay? If the simple accommodation provided with WYD Registration Package A is not suitable for your group, Harvest can also help your group to upgrade your accommodation. Harvest has access to a huge allotment of paid accommodation options including an extensive range of 2 to 5 star hotels in central and suburban regions of Sydney. For further information, about your accommodation options, check out the Harvest website http://www.harvestonline.net.au Step 4: How will I get there? Most public transport in Sydney during the event is included in your registration. However transportation to and from Sydney is not included. You can arrange your own or book on-line with the Official Australian WYD08 Tour Operator — Harvest Youth Tours. Harvest has secured thousands of Sydney bound seats on planes, trains and coaches. Access their special group travel prices through http://www.harvestonline.net.au Step 5: How do I Register? Registrations need to be done through the Egeria system at http://egeria.wyd2008.org/ Visit the WYD08 website for more information on pilgrimage groups and registration. If you need assistance with your registration contact the Egeria hotline on 1300 993 793.
